Slacker Update 7/29/15

I'm a slacker.  I miss being a part of this community.  I miss posting stitchy updates on a regular basis.  Let's be honest, I miss getting an opportunity to stitch.

Wife.  Mom of 3 kids under age ten.  New puppy.  Church.  Small group.  Social media and website manager for the church.  There are so many things that take my attention away from cross stitching these days.  And there just seem to be seasons when I really desire to stitch and ones where it never even crosses my mind.

It's really frustrating because I do enjoy stitching and watching a kit come together.  I constantly find myself browsing for new kits or ideas, liking and favoriting other people's work online, and scrolling through the crafty blogs.  I seem to be in the infamous stitchy slump with no end in sight.

That being said, I figured I may as well post a minor update to Cinderella.  Considering that my last update was 17 months ago, I should have finished much more of this by now.

I'm determined not to let this kit defeat me!!  ;)  Four years is too long to slack on one project.

So I'm going to continue working on it.  I'm also going to work on some smaller projects in between to avoid burning out.  I'm going to try and update this blog semi-regularly.

If you want to more closely follow my progress, you can find me in the following places:

  • Twitter --  @AmbitiousStitch
  • Periscope -- @AmbitiousStitch
  • Instagram -- @ambitiousstitches
I would love to follow you as well if you are on any of those platforms (or if you have a blog I don't currently follow here!) .  Please leave a comment or find me on Twitter or IG so we can connect!  I do so love seeing all of your lovely work.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and, as always, Happy Stitching!!

Happy New Year!!

What a busy year 2013 was!  It left me with so many fond memories... my oldest is a 2nd grader now, my son started pre-k, and my youngest baby turned one just before Christmas. On top of everything, we decided to put our house up for sale so we spent a good chunk of time (and money) prepping the house.  It officially went on the market in December and we've already had some showings.

Now that the holidays are over and the house is decluttered, I'm looking forward  to having some stitching time very soon!  My goal is to finish Cinderella by the end of 2014.

Has it really been so long?

I can't believe it's been almost a year since my last post here.  Scratch that.  It actually seems like longer than that.  But, I do have a good reason.  Honest!  Wanna see?

Isn't she gorgeous?  =)  As you can probably guess, my hands are pretty full these days so it makes stitching difficult.  I had to stop working on my projects towards the middle of my pregnancy last summer due to headaches and not being able to sit still long enough to accomplish anything.

My sweet baby Emilia arrived on "Doomsday" -- 12/21/2012 -- rounding out our family of 5.  She's a big time Momma's girl and doesn't like to be put down, but I'm hoping as she becomes more and more independent I'll be able to get back to stitching very soon!  I'm so eager to complete the Cinderella piece and also get started on a baby sampler for her.

Just wanted to let those of you who still check in know that I'm still here, although slightly preoccupied.

Happy stitching!!  =)

11/18/11 Non Picture Update

Good morning everyone!

Today is a non-picture update to just let you know that I am still here, still stitching, but haven't gotten a lot done on Cinderella since my last update.  I've been a bit under the weather and really haven't picked it up at all in the last few days.

I did manage to get started on my reboot of the Day [9] Logo project that was lost in shipping a few months back.  I'm hoping to get it finished and ship it in a more secure fashion this time around so it actually gets where it's intended to go.

Anyway, I'm going to hopefully have some pictures to put up with weekend -- including some WIP shots of my husband's cross stitch project!  He's doing such a great job and he's given me permission to post his progress here.

Don't forget to check out all the contest and giveaway links at the top of the blog.  There are so many going on right now and I don't want you to miss out!

Happy stitching!

WooHoo!

Check it out!

Just under 2 months of blogging here and already over 1000 pageviews.

I am flabbergasted!

Honestly, I didn't think this little corner of my world would get any attention whatsoever.  To get anywhere near this number in just a few months is just craziness.

Thanks to everyone who has stopped by and taken an interest in my projects!  I really love reading and responding to comments, so keep those coming.

Also, if you are reading this blog and have one of your own, I'd love to know about it!  I try to keep up with and comment on as many blogs as I can, so if you don't see your blog on my blog roll to the right, please comment on this post or send me a message and let me know so I can add you!

I haven't done anymore stitching on my projects so far this week.  We've been going to VBS at our church each night and visiting friends during the day, so there hasn't been a whole lot of time.  The rest of the week will probably be spent finishing up some homework and driving back and forth from VBS.  Check in for a new stitching update hopefully by Monday!

5/17 Update

I received lots of replies and encouragement over at my favorite stitching forum in regard to my concern over the color of my last stitches.  For now, I'm going to leave the stitching as it is and continue working around it.  Once the surrounding colors are completed, I'll look to see how the color holds up and decide whether or not to rip it out then.

It'll probably be a few more days before I start stitching again.  I had an unexpected hospital stay last night and, as I result, I am a little behind on the schedule I've given myself to complete some school work.  Factoring in the additional rest I'm going to need, stitching is going to have to go on the back burner.

Let's just hope that the stitching bug still decides to stay!  Last time something like this happened it took a few weeks for me to pick up the needle again.

BTW, if anyone reading this has a stitching blog, please leave a comment so I can follow your blog!  I love following other people's projects.

Have a great day!

Twitter!

Finally signed up for Twitter... user name AmbitiousStitch.

Still frustrated at the problems I'm having getting pictures from my camera to my computer.  Not much point in updating if I can't have pictures, huh?

Pray that I find a cord to connect my camera soon since the slot for the SD card has decided to kick the bucket.
